My Story

This memorial website was created in the memory of my little baby, Oliver Hughes who was born in United Kingdom on March 20, 2001 and sadly gave up his fight on January 27, 2006 at the age of 4. We will remember him forever. He was the most beautiful, funniest little charcter you'd have ever met! he thought hard, and was never affraid, the bravest boy in the world! Mummy's little chelsea boy! I love you baby xxx

All about OLLIE!
Ollie was born 30 weeks premature, at Medway Maritime hosp in kent, weighing a huge 3lb! he was so cute, he was a strong little man! from birth oliver vomited, and things stemed from thier, i always thought my baby would get better, i used to search the internet for a reason and a cure, things progressed in his last two years, he became more poorly, and was frequently admited to hospital for flare ups in his bowel and many infections! But he was a strong one, and always got better, just as quick as he got sick!
This winter had been a bad one for ollie, having caught a phneaumonia which he just never realy got over and after catching many infections in florida whilst on holiday he just seemed to deteriorate, and sadly in january whilst in great ormond street hospital he caught five serious infections and just lost the fight, my poor baby was just too tired, and sadly he gave up on 27th jan, just 7 weeks before his 5th birthday! He shocked us all, even doctors, we all thought he would pull through.
I miss you so much baby, you were my whole world and still are, you will never be forgotten, and i'll love you more each day baby.
love you baby xx

when a child is born

When a child is born it’s like a star so bright,

But when that child is lent to you, it leaves with the night,

And if your one of the special ones, you’ll be chosen for that child,

You’ll be happy or sad, or even wild,

But you’ve chosen for a reason, and carer is your task,

They’ll bring you joy, happiness and love,

And the pain their smile will mask,

Their like fairies, pixies and angels, like a fantasy,

But these little children are here, as real as can be.

They have pain, suffering and illness, but this you never see,

But only love, happiness and giggling with glee,

So on your borrowed time, love is what you’ll feel the most,

And when that light goes out, what you’re left with is not a ghost,

But a darling little angel, and a star brighter than most.

So take you’re thoughts and memories, and cherish them with love,

Because you’re darling babies are angels, flying high, up above.

i miss you so much

I just don’t understand how you can be here one minute,

And then gone so quick.

I understand you suffered, and I understand you were sick,

But my world is so empty now, and lost is how I feel,

And it’s by your bedside that I cry as I kneel,

Your things are untouched and your rooms still the same,

And every time it’s quiet, I hope you’ll call my name.

Because it was a mum that you made me, and a mum that I am.

It was something more than just love that we shared,

But a life and two souls, magically paired.

When you left, I lost your half,

But you left me with memories and you taught me to laugh.

Your life to me was a gift of love, and something ill treasure forever, As you smile, and look after me from heaven above.
